Volunteer Perks

Early Application Perks

Volunteers who submit their application before 2026-11-22 and get accepted will receive the following perks:

• Priority registration:
  • You will have the chance to register as a competitor before the last phase of registration opens (between Phases 2 and 3).
  • Note that using this (optional) priority registration path ties your registration to your volunteer duties, meaning that your volunteer duties cannot be cancelled unless you also cancel your registration.
• Early access to booking hotel rooms at Arenahotellet (hotel next to the venue).
• Discounted front-row spectator seating via a volunteer pre-sale expected to launch December 27th 2026. Links will be provided at a later date.

Perks for All Volunteers

All volunteer team members will receive the following perks:

• Refunded registration fee (after the competition)
• Lunch for each day of the competition
• Fika & snacks throughout the competition
• Volunteer t-shirts

Roles

Stage Volunteer Team

Stage Volunteers will have judging, running, and scrambling assignments throughout the competition. Expect to spend about 2/3 of the competition volunteering, and the rest either on breaks or competing.

Delegates

Delegates who want to apply to be Stage Leads can do so through the same form. As there will be limited spots available, delegates who are not chosen for Stage Lead can also apply to be regular Stage Volunteers.

Side Room Team

Side Room Team members will be managing the activities before, during, and after each of the Big Blind and Fewest Moves attempts (submission, scrambling, judging, and correcting FMC attempts).

Whenever these tasks are completed, expect to join the Stage Volunteers for regular judging, scrambling, and running tasks. Expect to spend about 2/3 of the competition volunteering, and the rest either on breaks or competing.

Data Team

Data Team members will be in charge of data entry, double-checking scorecards, and printing subsequent round scorecards. Expect to spend about 2/3 of the competition volunteering, and the rest either on breaks or competing.

WCA Booth

In collaboration with the WCA Major Championship Team and Communication Teams, you can help run different activities throughout the championship!

Examples of these activities include:

• WCA Bingo
• Handing out gifts to competitors, spectators, and WCA Volunteers
• Mosaic Contests
• Autograph signings
• Live Quizzes
• And more!

Help Desk & Registration

We’re looking for volunteers to work around 5 hours per day at Registration, answering questions about our event, checking competitors in, and helping with other tasks such as shopping runs or managing the lost & found.

This is a great job for parents who’d like to help out and keep busy during the competition!

Live Stream Team

The Live Stream Team will work with our contracted production company to provide a professional competition stream. Varying levels of involvement and time commitment are available.

We are looking for volunteers with experience and interest in the following categories:

• Stream Commentator
• Data gathering and analysis
• Videography

Applications for this position will close on 2027-02-01. Please note that this role includes preparation work leading up to the competition.

Unofficial Events

In addition to all 18 official WCA events, we have an entire stage dedicated to unofficial events! These include 3×3 Team Blind, Mirror Blocks, and 3×3 for people who are not registered for the official competition. We will also have a big area dedicated to a fun zone. There we will host a variety of fun activities during the weekend. We are looking for volunteers who want to help making this World Championship a great experience for everyone, not just for official competitors!
