World Cube Association

The World Cube Association governs competitions for mechanical puzzles that are operated by twisting groups of pieces, commonly known as ‘twisty puzzles’.

As the WCA has evolved over the past decade, over 245,000 people have competed in official WCA competitions. Despite this growth, the WCA remain an organization that is almost entirely run by volunteers, from local organizers to WCA Delegates to even the WCA Board.

As the city’s official destination management organization, Uppsala Destination & Event work with tourist information and lead major events that make a lasting impact across the municipality. Through close collaboration with the local business community, they strengthen the meetings industry via Uppsala Convention Bureau – a partnership that brings more conferences, events, and professional gatherings to our city. Destination Uppsala also works strategically with tourism development and brand-building initiatives tied to Uppsala.

Swedish Cube Association

The Swedish Cube Association, or SveKub for short, is an organization working towards developing and organizing Speedcubing competitions in Sweden. It has its roots in the first WCA competitions ever held in Sweden back in 2004, and is working in a more organized form since 2021 when it was established as an organization with an elected board, and registered as a legal entity.

Having organized Swedish competitions for decades, including the Swedish Championship each year, SveKub has accelerated its organizing of larger competitions in recent years in preparation for the MoYu WCA World Championship 2027. This included the Swedish Championship 2025 and the Nordic Championship 2026, both held in IFU Arena to fine-tune our experience level ahead of 2027.
